Dental treatment is an excellent investment in an individual’s medical and psychological well being. Financial considerations should not be an obstacle to receiving your dental care. Clear financial arrangements play an important part in the attainment of good dental health. The following financial options are offered . Patients with Insurance Coverage
Dental insurance pays only a portion of the total treatment charge. The portion which the patient pays (patient co-payment) can be handled according to the PAYMENT OPTIONS outlined above. The portion which the insurance company pays (insurance benefit) can be assigned to our office following a predetermination of benefits.

Assignment of Benefits Our office will accept assignment of most insurance benefits under the following conditions:
The following information MUST be provided at the first visit for verification of insurance benefits:

  • subscriber birthdate, social security number
  • insurance carrier, billing address, phone number, group number

If this information is not available at the first visit the patient will be asked for payment in full for the day's charges. We are pleased to file insurance to reimburse the patient. Subsequent visits can be handled by assignment.

After verification of insurance benefits, you will be expected to pay your deductible, if applicable, and any estimated patient co-payment.  If, after 90 days, your insurance company has not paid their portion, the patient will be responsible for paying the balance in full.

Our office is willing to work with most insurance companies. This means that we'll be happy to file your insurance for you, and will accept payment from most insurance companies as well. However, we do ask that patients understand up front the limitations of their own coverage, and take responsibility for their portion of the bill not covered by insurance. For example, our fees are not negotiable, as they've been determined based on our time, materials and overhead costs. Unfortunately, insurance companies vary in their coverage amounts for various dental procedures.

We also advise our patients be aware of the limited nature of dental insurance in general. People are typically accustomed to thinking in terms of medical insurance coverage, where deductibles are high, but serious and catastrophic conditions are covered. In contrast, dental insurance universally has low deductibles but does NOT provide for catastrophic or major problems.

In any case, we're well-versed in the latest coverage trends, and are more than happy to discuss the particulars of your plan with you prior to any treatments you may undergo.
